Scroll  down. You can read in English.

”Sutekinasozai” BY Sayaka Murata

An obvious thing becomes a not-obvious thing.
A typical thing becomes a weird thing.
What kind of place do you want to be born
to live the next life if there is reincarnation?
Could it be possible to be paid
not as a human but as a brilliant chandelier?

I was fascinated by the strange world that people recycle the body of a dead person. Sayaka Murata is the very writer to come up with these kinds of stories. The terrible tale develops, including a ring made of human bone, an earring made of a human tooth, etc. It is common for the heroine and her friend to recycle the dead person’s body for fashion. It is mysterious for a reader that the story comes to sound like a normal conversation for ladies who wants to dress up. But the heroine’s husband reveals an intense disgust against using the tool made of the human cadaver. He insists that it is only human to do such cruel things. It is true. Animals would not use their dead friends as their coats, don’t they? The heroine drugs him into her world with a vivid narrative. The heroine’s persuasive way of talking is quite impressive. If we live as creatures in only a short period, I cannot help adore myself for working hard and even stones here and there. This story might be a gift from God. Everything that exists comes from Oneness and goes back to Oneness. All, including both living things and non-living things, start the same energy.
